Londoner Sophie Rose started dancing at a young age, gaining her RAD & ISTD dance credentials in Bromley. She continued to pursue her passion for dance by gaining a place at the prestigious London Studio Centre, where she successfully graduated with a BA (Hons) in Theatre Dance. She has performed in many London theatres, including The Peacock and New Wimbledon, credits included: ‘Unexpected Tales’ and ‘Alice in Wonderland’. Her talents also extend to modelling and television work, highlights include ‘Black Label Campaign’ (Burberry); ‘Beats – by Beats by Dre’ (Apple) and ‘Schwarzkopf – Indola’ (UK tour).
Since then, Sophie has then gone on to achieve her Level 6 Qualified Teachers Status with distinction through the British Ballet Organisation. Dedicated to all her students, Sophie has found a love for teaching and achieves huge personal satisfaction being able to share her passion for dance with the next generation.
Sophie joined the Skylark Team shortly after opening in 2016 and dedicated to our school ever since has progressed to our Schools Manager. Leading our Contemporary programme Sophie teaches all ages and abilities in Contemporary as well as Ballet, Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) and Stretch and Sculpt for adults after training in assisted stretching.
Sophie’s love of dance extends to choreography and since being with the school she has choreographed many dances for our school’s performances and dance events. As Co-Founder of our Skylark Company, Sophie has choreographed dances which our Company has gone on to win awards for in both solo’s and group dances. Sophie treasures these special moments with her dancers and is thrilled to be able to show the true talents of the students from Skylark School of Dance.
