Here Skylark students share their creative works (drawing, painting, etc) that express the spectrum of their emotions experienced during lock-down and their hopes for a brighter future. As dancers, our role is to bring our feelings and stories to life through movement and art… even the uncomfortable ones. In time, we hope to look back on this project, reflect on the past but celebrate the future. And to mark this, we will display the school’s art projects as a gallery exhibit, once we are able to open our Basco House Studio.

Exciting News! We are really proud of our student Isabel who was named the Step into Dance Ambassador 2020! 🌟
This scheme provides talented and enthusiastic young people with the opportunity to learn new skills that will equip them to support a range of events, projects and performances throughout the academic year.
Step into Dance is a Royal Academy of Dance programme in partnership with the Jack Petchey Foundation.
Congratulations Isabel and good luck! 👏✨
✨That time of the year is here when dreams, hopes and goals start to stir and inspire.
Sometimes we do ourselves a disservice, by saying “I can’t” to projects that intimidate or we don’t think are right for us. Be kind to yourself: say “I can!”. You’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish.
Try that new project. A little anxiety is normal, it means an exciting change could lie ahead. You never know what discoveries or realisations you’ll have until you leave your comfort zone.
See. You’re thinking about those first steps and beginning is the hardest part. Good work… and good luck!💫

✨ We can’t wait to welcome our Skylarks back to the studio on Monday 6th January.
🗓 Our new timetable is available to download from the timetable page.
⏰ So 2020 is almost upon us: let’s reflect on 2019. It’s been a year of fantastic achievements: we supported our community through outreach events; our students secured auditions and places on the British Ballet Organisation’s national scholar programme; and we put on our first, full-length theatre production – The Golden Key.
There have been challenges along the way, but through your support – both as advocates and hands-on volunteers – you’ve helped us prevail. Thank you for making this our best year yet!
A new year, a new decade, and the journey continues. What does the future hold for the Skylarks? We hope to take the school to new heights in 2020. Prepare for some exciting developments in January
We wish you all a Happy New Year and look forward to seeing you back in the studio next week!🎉
