What a wonderful day we had celebrating Father’s Day with our Skylark Family. Thank you to the Skylark dads for dancing their hearts out. You are all simply amazing and we’ll cherish these memories forever.
To celebrate Father’s Day we’re inviting our Skylark dads and granddads to join their children in a very special dance lesson on Monday 22nd June, 18:30-19:15. If you’d like to join this class please contact us for the Zoom details.
We’re thrilled to be a part of this amazing initiative – The Driveway Project – photographing local families by their homes during lockdown.
When an amazing local photographer, Joyce Goldoni, approached us with the idea of documenting this unique time, we said YES without hesitation. This project aims to lift spirits in our community, share a slice of joy from our lives and bring us closer together… at a time when we’ve never felt further apart.
And what an incredible experience! Not only have we helped to create some beautiful images, but we’ve also helped to raise awareness and money for the wonderful Charity – SOLACE. Thank you Joyce, for letting us be a part of your art.
There is still time to make a donation for a great cause! Please see the link to the page in our profile.
With all this craziness, why not create your own ‘new normal’?⠀
Anyone can do ballet and it’s never too late to start. Skylark’s adult classes improve mobility, posture, coordination and energy levels.⠀
Have fun, meet other people and enjoy that liberating feeling that only comes from dance.⠀
Joining is easy. Just visit our website skylarkdance.com to view our new class schedule. Then pick a level and time that suits you. ⠀
To register, drop us a message or email on info@skylarkdance.
Here Skylark students share their creative works (drawing, painting, etc) that express the spectrum of their emotions experienced during lock-down and their hopes for a brighter future. As dancers, our role is to bring our feelings and stories to life through movement and art… even the uncomfortable ones. In time, we hope to look back on this project, reflect on the past but celebrate the future. And to mark this, we will display the school’s art projects as a gallery exhibit, once we are able to open our Basco House Studio.
